CARE PORTAL
Installation for STRAAT (street art museum in Amsterdam)February 24 2022

Care Portal used a metal shutter transported from Beirut and presented at STRAAT Museum in Amsterdam. The shutter carried holes produced by bullets and explosion damage. Rather than repairing or concealing them, I treated the openings as portals through which visitors inserted colorful messages of hope, care and healing.
The messages accumulated and became material for workshops, drawings and conversations. The work connected a specific object from Beirut to an international public in Amsterdam, asking how damaged materials travel, how their histories are communicated and how audiences are invited to respond.
